Thats funny when you put it like that. How many rounds you are poorer. I will be poorer some rounds too pretty soon! Real close to you too BTW.

Re: I'm 650 rounds poorer
Good way to spend the day. I couldn't get to I-10 (in Houston) this morning, so I turned back home. Hooked up my IP phone, logged into the phone system at work, turned off my desk phone via the internet, and made my IP phone my desk phone. Worked at home, but did crack a beer at 1:00.

Re: I'm 650 rounds poorer
Dang dude!, next time cmon over and you can shoot me a new french drain. After today I'm gonna do a modern marvels and get me a big old drain dug. I'm tired of the lake in my backyard.
And they said this property didn't flood during Allison, yeah right. At least you had some fun! |
Re: I'm 650 rounds poorer
I went shooting 2 weekends ago and it was the first time I felt like I had actually wasted ammo. How effed up is that?! Used to, when I'd buy ammo I'd be like, "Dang, I coulda spent that money on X or Y and I sure hope I don't regret this" and every time I had way more fun and gained more experience than the dollars spent were worth.
Nowadays, with skyrocketing prices and the inability to replace the ammo I actually feel like I'm wasting money/ammo to shoot it. At some point I will have to stop because I CANNOT replace what I've shot up. I'm teetering on buying 10K rounds of whatever happens to be 10K of in front of me and then buying something nice to actually shoot it with. |

Ohh don't worry. I had some good training today - I was not alone:evil: Good practice today and learned a few things. I even got to swap out optics on my AR to see how they hold zero between swapouts. Did real well. That was comforting. |

Re: I'm 650 rounds poorer
Happy story:
On that shoot a couple weekends ago everything went well with the new Knoxx SpecOPs stock for my 870. Can't tell any difference between #8 birdshot and 00 Buck. At first I was concerned because I fired the #8 first and it hit just as hard as a solid stock but the 00 Buck was not perceptibly harder. I even tried mixing the shells to see if I could tell them apart and the only difference was the boom and the holes made in the target. With new found confidence in my spiffy stock I worked on several shotgun drills and the most impressive result was found when firing while running. I use foam-cored poster boards with hand drawn silhouette targets. I was aiming for the head and I was able to very rapidly empty all 7 rounds within the head (10" dia), effectively melting the area out of the target, while running full tilt laterally. I reran the drill with the same results. I found it very interesting that my shots were better placed while running than if I were standing still and taking my time. I also got to put a couple hundred rounds of perfectly irreplaceable .380 through both of our new Ruger LCPs. That was the ammo I regretted expending but it must be done for a carry pistol that I've never fired. The downside was the sights were hitting pretty low and to the left. The upside was I could point-shoot it to 3" groups from 15 yards in either hand and in various positions (didn't try running). Interesting observation was that both pistols exhibited precisely the same sight offset even when transferred into my wife's hands (who can't point shoot for shit). 2 pistols with the same sight offset regardless of shooter? Things that make you go, "hmmmm". |

PM me if you need more than your dehumidifiers. JJ: I am VERY close to pulling the trigger on a 22 ar upper and a 22 conversion kit for my CZ's. $1000 bucks will get both, and I can go the range COMPLETELY guilt free. |

Re: I'm 650 rounds poorer
Dave:
If it floated the floor, it may be best to pull up that part of the floor and let the subfloor dry thoroughly. Otherwise, you may gets lots of mold and sour smell later on. Especially since most pergo type flooring is made of what is essentially particle board for it's base. |
Re: I'm 650 rounds poorer
It's happened during Ike, I've written that whole back room off basically. I'm not going to do anything with it until I can solve the drainage issue. Thanks for the offer of dehumidifiers however. I'm sure the rest of that "addition" is already rotten and mold ridden as it is. What a shame.
